In Their Own Words

Description
Deployment affects youth, families, and their communities. We were inspired by a teen who wrote an essay about how deployment affected her and shared it at a meeting of educators. We decided there is no better way to make others aware of what it's like than using their own words to make this point.

We are collecting essays written by youth and compiling them into a publication. The purpose of this publication is to raise awareness of the impact on young people when a member of their family is deployed in military service. We want to hear your story, in your own words. Your words can educate others about what it’s like to have a family member in the military.
