Register Now for Supporting the Children of Guard and Reserves Institute

Event Date: March 14 - 15, 2007

Military families are everywhere in Ohio - they're in our own backyard. Youth in military families, particularly those who are "suddenly military," have unique needs. We are pleased to offer this two-day training to Ohio, to be held March 14-15, 2007, in the Ag Admin Auditorium in Columbus from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

It is sponsored by the Military Child Education Coalition, Ohio National Guard, Operation: Military Kids (Ohio 4-H Youth Development), and Ohio Department of Education. The Military Child Education Coalition'sT Supporting Children of the National Guard and Reserve Institute© is a professional development program for educators and professionals to reach out in a support network to the children of the National Guard and Reserve.

The conference includes two continental breakfasts, two lunches, two refreshments breaks, and conference materials. The curriculum, content, process, and delivery are correlated with the National Staff Development Council's Standards and the National Standards for School Counseling Programs. Extension Educators are invited to attend. As well, you may spread the word to interested people (e.g., school counselors, teachers, school nurses) in your county.

There is no cost to attend; the registration fees and meals (valued at $140) are covered by the Military Child Education Coalition. However, it is necessary to register. To register, go to the Military Child Education Coalition website. Deadline for registration: March 2, 2007. You will need to insert the dates and location of the Institute. If you have questions, contact Theresa Ferrari.
